What sets our formulation apart is not simply the concentration of minoxidil, but what surrounds it.
Rather than relying on the harsh, highly alcoholic vehicles commonly associated with conventional minoxidil solutions, our formula is built around premium mineral water, carefully selected conditioning ingredients, vitamins and nourishing carrier oils. We use premium British natural mineral waters rather than ordinary tap, filtered or reverse-osmosis water.
The formula is further enriched with Jojoba, Argan, Vitamin E, Biotin, Provitamin B5 and Aloe Vera, together with Cetyl Alcohol and Stearyl Alcohol — fatty alcohols valued for their conditioning properties and completely different from the drying effect associated with simple alcohols such as ethanol.

Our Low-Alcohol Minoxidil 10% takes the Dean & Averroes® approach further.
We wanted to create a high-strength minoxidil treatment without making the scalp endure the heavily alcoholic experience associated with many conventional minoxidil solutions. Current 5% products can contain substantial amounts of ethanol and propylene glycol; one currently listed US product contains 28.86% v/v alcohol alongside propylene glycol.
Dean & Averroes® takes a deliberately different approach.
Our 10% low-alcohol formula uses premium British natural mineral water as its principal aqueous foundation, combined with a carefully selected conditioning system and a substantially reduced reliance on ethanol. It is enriched with a high concentration of Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Aloe Vera Extract and carefully selected vitamins, alongside nourishing and conditioning ingredients designed to support a healthier-feeling scalp.
Importantly, Cetyl Alcohol and Stearyl Alcohol are fatty alcohols—conditioning agents used for their emollient and textural properties, not the same type of drying alcohol as ethanol.

Minoxidil is the active ingredient at the heart of the treatment. Around it, we have built a more considered vehicle using premium mineral water, vitamins, botanical extracts and nourishing carrier oils.
Our water is not simply ordinary tap, filtered or reverse-osmosis water. We use carefully selected premium British mineral waters, as part of our commitment to ingredient quality.
